Family Outdoor Retreat
A plan that needed a reset
The homeowner had already taken the first step—working with another contractor on a design—but the project never moved forward.
Looking for a way to get things back on track, they reached out to us.
As we walked through the existing plan together, it became clear it didn’t fully reflect how they wanted to use the space. They were looking for something more intentional—an outdoor area where they could comfortably entertain, give their kids room to play, and enjoy being outside in a way that felt distinct from the house itself.
At the same time, the budget had already been established. So the challenge was to refine the plan, make it work better, and move the project forward—without starting over.
Solving for how it lives
We designed and built a large patio that brings multiple elements together—an outdoor kitchen and grill, a seat wall, a fire feature, and several stoops that connect the space back to the home.
The property presented some challenges. A noticeable slope toward the neighboring lot required careful grading and drainage planning to make sure everything functioned properly—both for this property and the one next door.
By working through those details early, we were able to create a space that feels seamless and easy to use—without compromising long-term performance.
Key Features
Outdoor Kitchen
Everything within reach A built-in grill and prep space makes it easy to cook and serve without leaving the moment—keeping everything centered around the patio.
Grill Station
Fired up and ready Integrated seamlessly into the layout, the grill station is positioned for convenience, durability, and everyday use—not just occasional hosting.
SEAT wall
More room, without more furniture A continuous seat wall adds flexible seating throughout the space—keeping things open while making it easy to gather.
fire feature
Where the night settles in A central fire feature creates a natural place to gather—bringing warmth, light, and a reason to stay outside just a little longer.
The space they were missing
What stands out most is how naturally the space now fits into everyday life.
There’s room to gather, with a layout that makes it easy to spend time outside—whether it’s a quiet morning or a full evening with friends.
Just as importantly, everything moved forward with clarity. What started as an uncertain plan is now a space that feels complete and ready to be enjoyed.
Along the way, a strong level of trust was built—something that’s led to continued work together and recommendations to others!
Paving the path to your perfect space
Even the best build can feel stressful without a clear process. That’s why we keep things organized, transparent, and moving forward—from first conversation to final stone. A clear process. A steady team. A space you’ll enjoy for years.
